Bongbong Marcos Nagbayad Ng 30M Sa Supreme Court Para Pabagsakin Si Leni Robredo

Former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. completed a multi-million peso payment to the Supreme Court, his lawyers said Tuesday, moving forward his election protest against Vice President Leni Robredo.
A copy of the official receipt dated July 10, 2017 shows that the losing vice presidential candidate paid the high court the second tranche of P30,000,200.00 million. This was confirmed by Marcos’s legal counsel Vic Rodriguez.
Marcos’s payment comes four days ahead of the July 14 deadline.
The Supreme Court, which sits as the Philippine Electoral Tribunal, required him to pay P66.223 million to fund his protest which he filed on June 29, 2016. It covers the cost of the retrieval of the ballot boxes and other election paraphernalia in 39,500 precincts from 25 provinces and cities.
Marcos paid the first tranche in April.
Vice President Robredo was also ordered to pay her P15 million-counter-protest poll fee in two tranches. She paid P8 million on May 2. The deadline for the second installment to complete the total payment of P15.4 million is on July 14.
A petitioner needs to pay P500 per contested precinct.
The Supreme Court is holding a preliminary conference Tuesday on the vice-presidential poll protests.
The PET has created a three-man panel of commissioners to expedite the resolution of the protest and counter-protest. Justice Jose Vitug was appointed Chairperson, while Angelito Imperio and Irene Ragodon-Guevarra were appointed as commissioners.
