Viva Artists Agency filed a case against Nadine Lustre in Regional Trial Court in Quezon City last Friday, October 11. It is after the actress disregarded her exclusive contract with the agency.
Regarding this issue, the VAA released their official statement through legal counsel Chino Paolo Z. Roxas.
In this statement, they further explained the reasons why they are coming after Nadine.
“VIVA Artists Agency, Inc. (“VAA”) filed today a lawsuit against its talent, Nadine Lustre (“Nadine”) before the Regional Trial Court of Quezon City.
They further explained, “The lawsuit was filed because, early this year, Nadine violated her valid and existing Agency and Management Agreement with VAA, by contracting independently with advertisers, promoters, and other third parties, in utter disregard of the exclusivity of her contract with VAA.”
Moreover, the statement also says that Nadine signed a five-year contract on 2009. It was then renewed last 2014 giving it a total of 10 years for Nadine and will be ended on June 24, 2020.
On 2015, this was even extended for another five years giving her until June 29, 2029.
Meaning, Nadine supposedly still has 9 years with VAA. They also stated how they made Nadine as “one of the most sought after artists in the entertainment industry.”
They mentioned how VAA produced the blockbuster movie Diary Ng Panget which starred Nadine and James and were introduced as JaDine. After this movie, the actress started to rose in fame and even had On The Wings of Love series.
On the other hand, on January this year, the legal counsel of Nadine released a statement regarding the actress terminating her contract with VAA.
As of now, the actress is managing her own.
