For context, Netflix’s top watched TV shows include The Witcher season one with 76 million, Lupin: Part 1 with 76 million, and Bridgerton season 1 with 82 million.
While those numbers represent the most popular shows based on the number of accounts that watched, the biggest series in terms of minutes watched are Stranger Things with 582 million minutes, Money Heist: Part 4 with 619 million minutes and Bridgerton season one with 625 million minutes.
While Ted didn’t disclose where Squid Game stands amongst these other shows, it would have to surpass some other major hits in order to become the most popular of all time!
Squid Game follows 456 desperate contestants who compete with each other in a mysterious and deadly survival game involving multiple rounds of childhood games to win 45.6 billion won (about $38.6 million) prize money that can pull them out of their misery.
The show’s writer-director Hwang Dong-hyuk recently revealed whether he’d consider making a second season of the show. Find out what he said…
