Erik Cowie, one of the zookeepers featured on Tiger King, has sadly died at the age of 53.
TMZ confirmed that he was found “laying down face down” in bed at a Brooklyn apartment on Friday (September 4).

A law enforcement source told the outlet, “There’s nothing suspicious about the death at this point, and no drugs were found on the scene, though a toxicology test will likely still be performed.”
Erik made several appearances in the 2020 documentary series and was cited as the head keeper of Joe Exotic‘s big cats. He continued to work at the zoo after Joe went to prison.
Our thoughts are with Erik‘s family during this difficult time.
We have sadly lost all of these stars in 2021.
