Ariana Grande's 2011 Tweet About Playing Glinda is Going Viral After 'Wicked' Casting News

Ariana Grande has been manifesting her role as Glinda for years and her dream finally came true!

The 28-year-old singer and actress has been a massive fan of the musical for the last 18 years and she first met original star Kristin Chenoweth backstage after seeing the show on Broadway.

Ariana returned to see the show on Broadway again in 2011 and she tweeted about how she wanted to play Glinda. Now, she’s officially going to play the role in the upcoming movie adaptation.

“Loved seeing Wicked again… amazing production! Made me realize again how badly I want 2 play Glinda at some point in my life! #DreamRole,” Ariana tweeted at the time.

Ariana is still close friends with Kristin after working with her on Hairspray Live.

Just last month, Kristin served as the guest mentor for Ariana‘s team on The Voice!
