Jana Kramer is getting candid about spending her first Thanksgiving without her kids.
On Thursday (November 25), the 37-year-old country singer shared an emotional post to Instagram about the struggles she’s experienced on the holiday as a single mom after filing for divorce from Mike Caussin in April.
The pair share daughter Jolie Rae, 5, and son Jace Joseph, 2.

“Happy thanksgiving 🖤. I’m beyond thankful for my beautiful babies,” she captioned a photo of herself holding hands with Jolie and Jace. “My heart hurts not being with them today and I have a feeling whether it’s the first holiday apart or the 30th there will always be an ache in the heart… BUT How grateful and thankful I am that I’m their momma.”
She continued, “Thinkin of all the others that are having a ‘first’ holiday of loss or missing or just a difficult time. Let it out and then let’s eat and drink our feelings 😂😂.”
Earlier that day, the actress also shared a video of herself crying on the couch at home to her Instagram Story.
“Happy Thanksgiving,” she said through tears. “First one without the kiddos. I knew it was going to be tough but the rainy weather outside is not helping.”
She gestured to the tears on her cheeks and added, “I’m going to finish this, go for a run and count my blessings, because there’s a lot to be thankful for. But I also think it’s okay to feel the feels … The holidays aren’t always easy for everyone, especially if you’re having a first.”
