Amy Schumer is reflecting on the 2022 Oscars.
During the award show on Sunday night (March 27), Chris Rock was presenting an award and made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith. After she seemed upset by the joke, Will Smith jumped on stage and slapped Chris in the face, then returned to his seat and shouted profanities at him.
Amy, who co-hosted the show with Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes, shared her thoughts on the incident in a post shared to Instagram.

“I think we can all agree that the best way to unpack what happened is to stream my series @lifeandbethhulu and see me on tour this fall,” Amy joked in her caption.
“But for real. Still triggered and traumatized,” she continued. “I love my friend @chrisrock and believe he handled it like a pro. Stayed up there and gave an Oscar to his friend @questlove and the whole thing was so disturbing.”
The Trainwreck star went on to say she was still reeling from what happened and that Will must have “so much pain” for reacting the way he did.
“I’m still in shock and stunned and sad,” she concluded. “Im [sic] proud of myself and my cohosts. But yeah. Waiting for this sickening feeling to go away from what we all witnessed.”
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences released a statement about the confrontation between Will and Chris a day later and recently followed up with another letter, condemning Will‘s actions once more and sharing an update about where they were in the investigation process.
Will has also released a statement, in which he apologized to Chris for his actions.
