Supreme Court Won't Review Bill Cosby's Overturned Sexual Assault Conviction

The Supreme Court has declined to prosecute Bill Cosby, leaving in place a ruling by Pennsylvania’s highest court to throw out his conviction and set him free from prison.

According to THR, the high court rejected prosecutors’ request to hear the case and restore the 84-year-old comedian’s conviction on Monday (March 7).

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court threw out his conviction last year, stating that an agreement he made with former prosecutor Bruce Castor in 2005 should have prevented him from being charged again.

The Supreme Court did not provide any additional comment about rejecting the case, which was included in a list of cases the court said it would not hear.

Bill was originally charged in 2015 and convicted in 2018, and sentenced to three to ten years for the raping of Andrea Constand at his Philadelphia home in 2004. He spent nearly three years in prison before Pennsylvania’s high court ordered his release.
