The 50-year-old investor, CEO and Chairman of Tesla, who was born in Pretoria, South Africa, has been making plenty of headlines lately – from his thoughts on the Mars expedition to his Saturday Night Live hosting gig to being named Time‘s Person of the Year for 2021.

As of April 21, Elon Musk has a net worth of $281.6 billion dollars according to Forbes.
The massive figure includes his work both with Tesla, as well as his ambitious SpaceX aerospace company, which is seeking to revolutionize the transportation industry on a global (and interplanetary) level. SpaceX alone is valued at $74 billion following the latest funding round in February of 2021.
He is on several wealth lists in Forbes as well, including No. 2 on the Billionaires 2021 list and No. 7 on the Forbes 400 in 2020. He led the pack at No. 1 on the Innovative Leaders list in 2019.
His baby son with Grimes recently made a rare appearance in a SpaceX presentation.
