Sharon Osbourne Reveals She Underwent Ketamine Therapy After Her 'The Talk' Exit

Sharon Osbourne is getting candid about her exit from The Talk

The 69-year-old host left the talk show in 2021 after defending Piers Morgan‘s comments about Meghan Markle, which led to an on-air argument between her and co-host Sheryl Underwood.

In a new interview with The Sunday Times, Sharon reflected on being fired from the CBS series and revealed she had received death threats amid the backlash.

“They said to me, ‘You are on permanent suspension. We don’t think that you’re repentant enough. And we will decide whether you ever come back,’” she said of her exit. “And I said, ‘Well, who’s going to make that decision?’ And they said, ‘We can’t tell you.’”

“My phone as far as my TV career [in America was concerned] was nonexistent, not one call. Nothing,” Sharon added. “In England and Australia, it never changed. Here it was like I was dead.”

The former X-Factor judge also claimed she was forced to hire security after the controversy, alleging: “[People] were saying they were going to come in the night, cut my throat, cut Ozzy’s throat, cut my dogs’ throats. … I just couldn’t stop crying because all I was thinking about was all the things that I’ve gone through in my life, and now they’re calling me a racist. This is insanity.”

Sharon apologized for her remarks in a post to social media after her argument with Sheryl aired, with the reality star apologizing “to anyone of colour that [she] offended.” She also wrote, “I panicked, felt blindsided, got defensive and allowed my fear and horror of being accused of being racist take over.”

Former hosts Holly Robinson Peete and Leah Remini later accused her of making insensitive comments behind the scenes.

“Everybody’s scared of saying something wrong that somebody would take and sell,” Sharon said in her Sunday Times interview, revealing that she and Ozzy would be leaving Los Angeles. “It’s no way to bloody live. I don’t want it. I don’t need it… It’s just our time to go home. I don’t want to be judged.”

She also said that she underwent ketamine therapy after her exit. “If you’re a person that stuffs things [down], ‘I’m fine, I’m fine,’ this drug relaxes you,” she explained, adding, “You’re not out completely. You can hear, you can talk, but you’re so relaxed, and you can’t bulls–t on it. It’s a truth drug.”

In the same interview, Sharon opened up about a “horrendous” facelift she had gotten.
