Sterling got emotional as he explained the impact the show has had on his life.

“It’s been a wonderful six years. It is a show that means so much to so many people and I get a chance to tell it with people who I love and who I respect as artists and as human being. I’m going to miss them. I’m going to miss telling this story,” he said.

He went on to say that he was going to miss having other people share their own experiences with the show.

The actor explained, “I have people that come up to me on the street and say like, ‘I adopted this baby because of you,’ or, ‘I hadn’t talked to my brother in a long time and because I watched the show, I gave him a call’, or like ‘My mom and I watch this all the time.’”
