Sofia Carson and Diane Warren attend Fashion 4 Development’s 10th Annual First Ladies Luncheon on Tuesday (September 20) in New York City.
Fashion 4 Development, or F4D, is a global platform developed in support of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals that works to promote the fashion industry, and advance economic and social development.
Previous guests at F4D events include Meghan Markle, Anna Wintour and Angelina Jolie.
The luncheon included a special presentation of the song “Applause,” written by Diane and performed by Sofia, from the film Tell It Like A Woman. Experimental Carbon singer Sirintip closed out the luncheon with a performance as well.
The event also featured a “green carpet,” cocktail reception, awards ceremony, and fashion runway show highlighting “Ten Decades of Fashion 1920-2020,” curated by New York Vintage founder Shannon Hoey and designer Bonnie Young of BY.Bonnie Young.
The fashion show opened with an original song from Celia Babini, also known as CIB.
One day before on Monday (September 19), F4D hosted the 2nd Annual Sustainable Goals Banquet, including a floral fashion runway dance by Princess Lockerooo, and a live performance by Dionne Warwick, performing the song “Free,” written by Diane Warren and produced by her Dionne‘s son, Damon Elliott.
The song is part of the initiative Musicians in the Key of Free, in support of refugees worldwide.
Celebrity attendees at the events included Nigel Barker, Tunde Oyeneyin , Dancing With the Stars alum Cody Rigsby and Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu.
Sofia Carson recently weighed in on a possible sequel to her new Netflix movie, Purple Hearts.
