Will Emily Carey & Milly Alcock Return For Season 2 of 'House of The Dragon'? Here's What The Showrunner Says

Emily Carey and Milly Alcock kicked off the first season of House of The Dragon as Alicent and Rhaenyra, and after just appearing in a handful of episodes.

The two young actresses have left the series for the older versions of their characters, played by Olivia Cooke and Emma D’arcy.

However, fans are still wondering if Emily and Milly are gone for good, or there is potential to have flashbacks in the upcoming season two.

Speaking to Variety, showrunner Ryan Condal opened up about the option about bringing them back and he’s keeping the door open to the possibility.

“I mean, look, I don’t know,” he shared, before revealing that the writing team has already broken much of Season 2, and the younger versions of Rhaenyra and Alicent “are not a part of the story that we’re telling, yet. That’s not a thing that we’re doing right now.”

But, he’s not ruling it out.

Ryan says that House of the Dragon can get “a little bit more fancy” with flashbacks.

“There are things that we haven’t fully sorted out,” he says. “I’m not closing the door on anything. So there, how’s that for an answer?”

House of the Dragon airs Sunday nights on HBO.

If you missed it, the son of a major British star has joined the show!
