Elon Musk Blames Activist Groups For Twitter's 'Massive Drop In Revenue' Following His Buyout

Elon Musk weighed in on who is to blame for Twitter underperforming after he bought it. According to him it’s activist groups who are at fault.

The 51-year-old Tesla CEO completed his buyout in late October and has already started making changes to the social media platform. Those changes have led to a slew of celebrities announcing plans to leave the app.

However, he took to Twitter to reveal who he blames for the app’s “massive drop in revenue.”

“Twitter has had a massive drop in revenue, due to activist groups pressuring advertisers, even though nothing has changed with content moderation and we did everything we could to appease the activists,” he wrote in a tweet.

“Extremely messed up! They’re trying to destroy free speech in America,” Elon added.

According to a new report, Twitter lost more than one million users, and a slew of accounts have also been suspended since the billionaire’s takeover.

A member of the House of Representatives implied Elon was behind her account not working after they called him out for his new paid verification service.
