There's a Big Update About Kendall Jenner's Tequila Brand Lawsuit

Kendall Jenner‘s tequila brand lawsuit has come to a close.

The 27-year-old superstar does not have to change the name of her tequila brand, following a lawsuit that has since been settled.

If you weren’t aware, Kendall‘s company was sued by the owners of Tequila 512. 512 is the area code for Austin, Texas. Kendall‘s own drink is called 818 Tequila, a reference to the San Fernando Valley where she grew up.

512 had called 818 a rip-off, pointing to the similar color and layout of their labels. They also claimed Kim Kardashian‘s app, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, was promoting 818 but 512 claimed their bottle was the one actually featured in a prominent image.

CEO of Tequila 512, Nick Matzorkis, said to TMZ: “Tequila 512′s lawsuit against 818 Tequila has been resolved. The parties have agreed that they will each have the right to use their existing names and they will both make changes to their labels to clarify that they are not related to each other. Tequila 512 has dismissed its case.”

Under the terms of the settlement, 512 will add “Est. 2012″ to its label. It’s unclear what changes 818 will make.
