Wheel of Fortune fans heard that Ryan Seacrest would take over from Pat Sajak and mixed responses followed. However, he seems to be doing really well with the ratings. But, that doesn’t mean he won’t dig in his heels and demand things are done his way with his choices to work elsewhere like on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve special.

Wheel of Fortune Fans Lashed Out At Ryan Seacrest

It’s unclear why so many people lashed out against Pat Sajak’s replacement by Ryan. After all, he did well with Kelly Ripa on Live with Kelly and Ryan. Perhaps it was because Kelly slammed the move, claiming he couldn’t even spell. But he kills the critics by ramping up the ratings.

As fans of the Wheel of Fortune game show know, Ryan Seacrest also hosts American Idol. Additionally, he’s got his radio show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest. Then every year, fans see him on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve special. Well, rumors have it that the game show execs want him mostly to themselves.

Wheel of Fortune Host Won’t Drop Other Shows

According to sources who shared information with Closer Weekly, the bosses of the game show want to lock Ryan into a contract that would mean dropping his other shows bar ABC’s American Idol. Unfortunately for them, it seems that he simply won’t throw most of his eggs in one basket.

One source claimed that the Wheel of Fortune execs feel that Ryan Seacrest should focus on the game show because he’s too “stretched” with his other commitments. Actually, they might not be wrong. Before he started on the show, he took a long vacay and told Kelly Ripa he felt rested for the first time in years. And, do you recall the time during the coronavirus when he seemed so exhausted fans thought he suffered a minor stroke?

Ryan Seacrest Has The Upper Hand?

With ratings the way they are, it seems that the execs want to keep it that way and lock the host in to work for the game show. But, he won’t have it. A source explained:

They see Ryan as the future, but Ryan’s not the kind of guy to lock in and sign here. He wants freedom and control and refuses to be pigeon-holed, and his obstinate stance is driving bosses crazy

What are your thoughts on Ryan Seacrest reportedly digging in his heels and refusing to drop his other work like On Air with Ryan Seacrest, and the annual Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve special?
