Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers suggest that while the Body and Soul storyline was initially very cute and fun, with tongue-in-cheek references, it’s clearly overstayed its welcome.
Days fans everywhere were excited to learn that the Salem soap would eventually be canceled, and the arc would wrap up, but is this coming sooner than expected?
The Beginning Of The End
Kim Cole made a splashing return to DOOL during the February 5 episode and reprised her role as the mentally unstable Nurse Whitley who had once kidnapped Abe Carver (James Reynolds).
Abe was determined to get to the bottom of who was tampering with the lives of Body and Soul’s cast and crew, and a leak in one of the scripts pointed him to Nurse Whitley’s direction.
Now that the Lady Whistleblower imposter and the Body and Soul stalker have been revealed, Salem’s soap can blissfully move on to become a big player in the land of daytime drama, right?
Here’s hoping the answer to that question is, ‘no’.
Body & Soul’s “Days” Are Numbered
In early November 2024, Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans & Hattie Adams) had an interview with Michael Fairman, confirming the Body and Soul arc would come to an end.
She also admitted the storyline was the reason behind Ron Carlivati’s, former Days head writer, exit. He abruptly left the show in July 2024 and Jeanne Marie Ford and Paula Cwikly took over the soap’s writing; however, it’s important to note that because DOOL shoots approximately six months ahead of broadcasting, the new writers’ content won’t appear until April 2025.
According to Soap.com, Days’ February preview indicates that Body and Soul will move production to Los Angeles. Does this mean the soap-within-a-soap storyline will finally come to an end this month?
Many Days fans are hoping this is the case! As other storylines for Body and Soul have wrapped up, here’s hoping the daytime drama arc will bring this storyline to a close so that Salem can move on to bigger and better things!
