The Valley star, Brittany Cartwright, revealed that her little boy with Jax Taylor, Cruz Michael Cauchi, has been diagnosed with autism. Read on for more details about what happened during their journey of discovery.
Cruz Is Autistic
When Cruz was born in April 2021, he was a delightful child, and Jax had dreamed of being a boy dad. Over the years, gorgeous photos arrived of the cutest kid on the Vanderpump Rules block. However, some fans noticed that he didn’t talk very much.

Of course, these days, if you followThe Valley on Bravo, you know that Jax and Brittany split, and now, Cruz is the product of a broken home. On April 9, three days before his fourth birthday, Brittany Cartwright spoke with People and said that her boy mostly stopped talking at the age of two.
The Diagnosis Took Time
In her interview, Brittany said that many folks on social media tried to tell her what they thought ailed her sweet kid. However, she wasn’t ready to talk about his diagnosis yet. She explained that they enrolled him in “speech therapy,” and later, a doctor found out what was wrong.

Relating how seldom Cruz spoke, she said that she felt thrilled one day when he suddenly spoke a whole sentence. Next, she explained that her four-year-old son has “non-verbal autism.” What seemed to be a bit of a puzzle is that Cruz Michael Cauchi “walked early.” And, “he was talking” just fine. In every aspect, he seemed to be on top of his milestones.

Medical News Today explained that “Nonspeaking autism is not a distinct diagnosis but a description of a certain set of symptoms of autism spectrum disorder (ASD).” The encouraging part of it is that “Many nonspeaking autistic people lead full, happy lives.” Hopefully, that will work out for little Cruz
Support From Fans
Reality TV fans let Brittany know that she was not alone. Many of them have children who struggle with autism. Her mom, Sherri, supports her daughter, and she said, “Cruz is amazing and I love when he says Mimi my little angel ❤️. [I] love him so much. ❤️ Brittany you are a[n] amazing mother and Cruz is lucky to have you as a mother.”
Meanwhile, her friend and co-star, Scheana Shay, said, “You are incredible! Cruz is incredible! And he chose YOU to be his mommy and you are such a strong one! Ilysm!!!”
One fan wrote, “Just know Brit, so many of us in the autism community know what you’re going through and we’re here. ❤️ you’re not alone, and you’re Cruz’s greatest advocate.”
