The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Jack Takes Advantage Of Michael’s Resignation – Victor Digs In Deeper

The Young and The Restless: Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman)

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) happened by the Genoa City Athletic Club, and it’s good that he did. His chance meeting with two longtime friends produced beneficial information.

Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey Bregman) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) start a dramatic and foreshadowing conversation before Jack arrives. After he does, the trio concludes that Michael Baldwin’s (Christian Le Blanc) announced resignation will infuriate Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), and it did, significantly.

Michael’s decision to step down as Victor’s consigliere caused him to lose sleep. As viewers noticed, the musical backdrop to the first and final scenes at the main ranch house was a variation of Nadia’s theme, which is the theme song of this classic soap opera.

Dynamic Break Executed By Daytime Stalwarts

Braeden ranks, without any reasonable debate, among the most consequential actors in this genre since his debut in 1980. His hiring as Victor led to this character becoming the star of the show and one of the greatest-ever soap opera characters.

Victor is the unquestioned head of Genoa City, Wisconsin. He formerly shared top billing in this Midwestern city with the woman, Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper), who recruited him to run Chancellor Industries forty-five soapy years ago. The Moustache, one of the nicknames Jack applied across the decades, also heads the powerful Newman family.

Michael’s relationship with Victor has long been a mix of business and personal dealings, with the consigliere tag intended to be accurate. Le Blanc’s long run on this show, which began in 1991, has included countless stellar performances, including his farewell to Victor.

The Young and The Restless: Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey Bregman)

Lauren Fenmore Is Right

Lauren has seen the toll Victor’s relentless pressure has taken on Michael. While young enough to be the so-called great man’s son, Le Blanc’s character is no GC spring chicken.

She implored him to cut Victor off after being imprisoned in a foreign jail a few years ago. But Michael rationalized what happened and continued to do Victor’s deviant bidding. And what did he gain from that, other than ulcerous emotional pain?

Thankfully, Michael broke the tie and told Victor no one last time. The months-long build to this climax also feels like the summer sun won’t shine on a reunion. Instead, Le Blanc will either be off-screen for a while or potentially help Jack.

Victor Newman Doesn’t Offer Well Wishes

Michael asked the man he considered a surrogate father for something that wouldn’t have cost a dime or even a soon-to-be-eliminated penny. But Victor wouldn’t wish his lawyer well. How crass—and there’s another word—the image of a donkey conjures in viewers’ minds as well.

Victor didn’t even offer a compromise solution. He could have suggested that Michael take on a protégé, who would have carried the heavy weight in the future.

Of course, Michael knows Victor’s chosen fixer could only handle the developing Aristotle Dumas (potentially Billy Flynn) battle and the ceaseless war on Jack. But there will be no more fixing because Michael said a hard goodbye and left as a shaken man.
