Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that there’s confirmation on some big recast news in the soap world. Deadline reports that Conner Floyd (Chance Chancellor on The Young and the Restless) is officially the new Chad DiMera (still currently played on-screen by Billy Flynn), so all the recent casting buzz was true.
Days’ Instagram account also shared a fun photo of Floyd outside his dressing room – and based on Floyd’s grin, he seems thrilled over this soapy Chad takeover.
Since Floyd is just starting to film in his new role, he won’t make his on-screen debut as Chad DiMera until April 2026. However, we have no doubt that Floyd’s first appearance will be worth the wait! (Make sure to check out our next week DOOL spoilers, here!)
Of course, many fans know Floyd from his time playing Chance Chancellor on The Young and the Restless, but he’s soap hopping over to Days now. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of
DOOL storylines are coming up for recast Chad down the road.
If you’re wondering how Billy Flynn (now playing Cane Ashby aka “Aristotle Dumas” on Y&R) feels about Floyd stepping up to the plate as Chad, it seems like he’s all for it.
In an Instagram story, Flynn congratulated Floyd once he got updates on this Chad recast confirmation. Let’s look at the special message Flynn posted.
“Congrats @connergfloyd! Chad is in great hands. You’re gonna crush it man,” Flynn said.

Flynn also included a shaking hands emoji, so it’s clear that he approves of Floyd filling Chad’s shoes.
Since Flynn was ready for the challenge of a new role at The Young and the Restless, he surely has no qualms about Floyd embracing a challenge of his own as the new Chad.
Flynn will continue to be seen as Chad for several months since Days films so far in advance, but we’ll look forward to seeing Floyd’s version once April 2026 rolls around.
