The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is working with Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn). She also knows that he’s taking advantage of her.
But a different angle has emerged after Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) began her bow-out. Viewers know that Khalil’s pregnancy means maternity leave, and her character needs to not be on screen for a chunk of time that begins shortly.
So, will Cane and Phyllis’ cat-and-mouse game advance because the woman of his desires will be temporarily out of the picture? Plus, both egotists will enjoy the reactions they will receive as a perceived couple in Genoa City, Wisconsin.
Lily Winters Just Turned The Corner
Cane got to Lily when they were at his chateau in the south of France last summer. If it hadn’t been for the murders, she would have been forced into making a choice.
Lily’s romantic connection with Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers) happened fast because of Aristotle Dumas’ reveal as Cane.
That appeared to be the next triangle on Y&R, but that projection soon was eviscerated by the unexpected write-out of Rivers’ intriguing character.
The currency of Lily’s melting heart made Cane’s ploy with Phyllis hard. He did ask his two-time ex-wife to give him some time, and all would be clear, but that was too vague. Plus, his Aristotle scheme and artificial intelligence weapon loss made Lily believe he was misleading her once again.
Phyllis Summers Knows What She’s Doing
Phyllis hacked and stole Cane’s AI tool for a reason. She wanted to gain power and use it to hopefully set Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) up for a major takedown.
She knows that Cane wants to get Victor, too. So, her deeper plan isn’t to ruin Cane but to have him help her destroy the Moustache.
Flynn’s revamped character doesn’t trust Phyllis right now. But he should eventually come to see that her priorities and his align. Whether he can forgive her criminal actions, which put his company on the scrap heap, remains to be seen.
Christine Romalotti Deserves A Good Day
Meanwhile, Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell), who was Christine Williams for many years, is about to again add Romalotti to her moniker. This wedding day has been planned for months and is about to happen.
The long-awaited remarriage to Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) is a gift to devoted fans who watched this super couple back in the daytime day. They were extremely popular and enjoyed many compelling storylines together until Phyllis was written into the picture.
Along with her freelancing, Phyllis can make time to upend Christine’s wedding day. But doing so would damage her relationship with Danny, which has matured through the years.
Here’s hoping that Cane helps to keep Phyllis in check when the momentous nuptial arrives.
