The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) has taken precautions. He ordered Jabot’s firewalls be raised as high as possible, but then made a very risky and understandably controversial decision.
Deciding to take his family business offline means Jack is shutting Jabot down. His wife, Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters), was tasked with developing a corporate response for the anticipated reaction that would definitely result.
Jack’s choice is one he didn’t make lightly but feels is necessary to protect the cosmetics business his father, John Abbott (Jerry Douglas), founded decades ago. These unprecedented actions are being taken because of the expected attack that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is expected to launch.
Cane Ashby’s Eleventh-Hour Apology Tour
Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) has no fans in Genoa City, Wisconsin, and he increasingly understands why. His Aristotle Dumas ruse, which he developed with his late father, Colin Atkinson (played by the late, great Tristan Rogers), was an unmitigated disaster.
Jack and Diane had no use for Cane’s latest recant of his apology or his repeating the favor he believes he offered when bee-lining to the Abbott mansion. He did so after learning that Victor likely had possession of the stolen artificial intelligence weapon.
The failed leader of Arabesque is attempting to prove Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) stole his digital weapon. What he plans to do with that proof, beyond pursuing legal action, is unknown.
Jack Abbott Sends Warning Message
Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) passed by his friend at the Genoa City Athletic Club, which Cane still owns. He’ll likely have to sell it at pennies on the daytime dollar shortly because of what Victor did to Arabesque with the AI tool.
So, Adam was confused when Jack and Diane quickly left the main dining room after sloughing Cane off. The head of Jabot told Adam to tell his father that he can have better luck next time.
Adam will relay that dialogue to his father, with Victor’s bravado likely resulting. The Moustache assumes his control of the AI program Cane’s programmers developed gives him overwhelming power to crush any business in the world at will.
Victor Newman Is Ready To Inflict Punishment
Victor remains convinced that Jack nearly killed Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). That belief is based on Jack having ordered illicit drugs as a means to scare Nikki into stopping drinking.
Jack’s ingestion of the pills he was formerly addicted to was an impulse move. Somewhat comparable to his choice to make Jabot go purposely dark, Jack believed his method of last resort was justified.
Nikki was impacted by Jack’s resulting unconscious state and need for emergency treatment. She did stop drinking, with Victor refusing to give credit to Jack. He’s wanted to teach him a lesson ever since, with the coming digital attack against Jabot being payback, Victor style.
