General Hospital spoilers and updates suggest that the facade of fake Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) is beginning to show signs of wear, and not be quite so believable. Could the detective’s recent mistake indicate that he is hiding a secret identity, and he’s not really Nathan at all?
The Show Has Been Teasing That Nathan May Not Really Be Nathan-At Least Not Mentally
The series has been dropping hints that Nathan might not actually be who he claims to be at least not mentally, meaning his mind and thinking.
While it’s true that Nathan’s DNA and fingerprints have matched, this doesn’t definitively prove that this resurrected Nathan is the genuine article. If Nathan has experienced a memory transfer, then there could still be some deception at play.
There are compelling reasons to believe that this isn’t the same Nathan that the residents of Port Charles once cherished.
In the episode aired on January 6, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), was visibly shocked by Nathan’s blunder.

Nathan Made A Rookie Mistake When If He’s Really Who He Claims To Be, He’s No Rookie!
Nathan compromised the integrity of the evidence chain by carelessly leaving a cigarette butt from a crime scene in his vehicle during his visit to Lulu Spencer ( Alexa Havins Bruening).
Although Nathan appeared somewhat flustered, he attempted to brush it off as if he were merely shaking off the cobwebs after returning to the police force.
Yet, it’s worth noting that Nathan supposedly woke up as if no time had elapsed at all, so shouldn’t he be performing at his peak?
In truth, there might be an underlying reason for Nathan’s glaring rookie blunder. It could be that the individual who is essentially inhabiting Nathan’s body is not a detective like he is.
The Writers May Be Hinting That Nathan’s Not Nathan, And Possibly Even His Father!
This could be yet another hint from the writers indicating that Nathan may not be who he claims to be; and there have been previous clues as well-one shortly before he arrived.
For instance, the initial “C” on the note with Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) medication. There have been additional clues suggesting that Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) might have executed a takeover of Nathan’s body.
If Faison’s memories are indeed coursing through Nathan’s mind, then a villain is disguising himself as a good cop.
“Nathan” might also be sharing insider knowledge from the PCPD with Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and secretly leveraging his detective role for their benefit.
