General Hospital Spoilers report Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) wasn’t planning on taking pity on Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and offering him a place to stay.
He’s been a bit of a burden hiding out in her attic, but she knows that he’s right that it’s the last place anyone would ever look. At the same time, her nerves are shot from trying to contain her real feelings toward Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna), jumping into bed with him when she hates the man, and tucking away her burgeoning feelings for someone else.
Developing any kind of understanding for or sentimental notion toward Valentin was the last thing Carly was expecting, but plenty of fans saw it coming from a mile away. So, do the sparks flying between them mean Valentin is here to stay?
Carly is Vulnerable
Right now, Carly is burying her feelings toward Jack so she can stay focused on the mission to take him down. Her relationship with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) has been more distant, and it works well for her to let him think it’s because she’s giving him his space with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).
Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks (Eden McCoy) isn’t going to chastise her mother for not making more time for her, because she’s keeping just as many secrets from Carly.
They’ve both got their plates full of deception right now. But beneath it all, Carly’s heart is broken that her relationship with Jack was nothing but a sham to lure her daughter into the WSB.
GH Spoilers Claim Jack’s Visit Came in Stark Contrast
Just as Carly was getting comfortable enough with Valentin this week to let her guard down, the ultimate guard dog — Jack — showed up. Instantly, we saw her walls go back up as she tried to prepare herself for a night alone with him.
The contrast between how relaxed and vulnerable she was with Valentin and how stressed and put off she was by Jack’s presence said it all. Not only is Carly well past being over Jack, but she’s ready to move on to someone else.
A Valentine for Valentin?
Valentin hasn’t been a regular character for a while now, and as long as he’s been on the run or in prison, we knew we wouldn’t be seeing too much of him. Right now, it’s almost easy to forget that he’s more than a house guest of Carly’s and is actually an escaped criminal.
He told Carly he had softened because of his daughter, in response to her surprise that he had any kind of heart beating in his chest. She saw that now, and something tells me she’s not going to be able to unsee it.
