The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) is a poor soul. With her attempts to stave off a mental collapse at a facility in Boston, Massachusetts, having failed, she returned to Genoa City, Wisconsin. But taking Ian Ward (Ray Wise) along proved to be the breaking point.
Ian isn’t dead, as devoted fans know. But in this storyline, he’s purely a projection of Mariah’s disoriented mind.
That’s why Mariah used his memory to drive her efforts to kidnap the child she gave birth to. Dominic Winters (Ethan Ray Clark) knows her, which made it easy to lure him away from the Chancellor estate under the pretense of an elaborate hide-and-seek game.
Great To See Melissa Ordway Back With The Cast
Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman Winters) went to recurring status in the recent past. She’d been a cast regular since becoming the recast for this legacy character in 2013.
Devon Winters (Bryton James) tried to calm his wife when they couldn’t locate their son. But he was also trying to rationalize what was obviously a major problem.
Fans wondered how an estate as fabled as Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) setting would enable a kidnapping. But daytime devotees know that the genre thrives on drama, not tranquility, and went along with this developing plot.
Camryn Grimes Working At The Top Again
The audience saw Grimes make sporadic appearances in the last half of last year. She was having issues and was said to be away from GC.
Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) was written in a different direction, as her connection with Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) deepened. That story felt natural as two friends deepened their bond that began with guitar lessons.

Of course, Grimes’ status on this show is legendary. Her portrayal of Mariah’s twin sister, Cassie Newman, is indelible. Yet it’s no surprise that Grimes has been able to create an entirely new persona and make Mariah believable.
The Ian appearance is intriguing because the fans know Wise’s character didn’t die last year, as every character, including Mariah, believed he did. But conjuring a nemesis in one’s mind doesn’t help someone avoid legal punishment.
Mariah surely deserves additional time in a mental health facility until she’s fully healed. That setting will probably be connected to a correctional facility, with earned jail time being served in that manner.
How Much Can Sharon Newman Endure?
Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby) targeted Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster). Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) put that old-school villain out of commission forever.
Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) was Matt Clark’s (Roger Howarth) target. Thankfully, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) intervened to bring justice to Matt, though he’s in jail awaiting a final verdict.
Now, Sharon’s other child, Mariah, is revealed to be Dominic’s kidnapper. All of this after Sharon and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) were kidnapped and tortured by Martin Laurent (Christopher Cousins).
Sharon’s tower of inner power is being tested once more. Here’s hoping a quick resolution is in store for Mariah, as she and her mother need peace of mind restored.
