Spoilers reveal that Stacy Haiduk is used to playing double duty and sometimes even more than that! The woman plays multiple characters in Days of Our Lives, including Kristen DiMera and Susan Banks.
With the actress appearing as Patty Williams on The Young and the Restless, what does that mean for DOOL? A new interview with the actress explains just that, so let’s get started!
Patty Williams’ Stint
Let’s start off by talking about Patty Williams returning to Y&R. Haiduk has taken back the role and for those that don’t know, Patty has a volatile history with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). While Patty is supposedly reformed, there seem to be more questions than answers right now.3
Each time an actor appears on another soap or show, there are concerns that their favorite characters could be leaving.
Perfect Timing
Now, let’s cut to the chase and say that Stacy spoke with TV Insider. The actress has not left Days of Our Lives, at least not yet. It just so happens that her character was ready for a “rest”.
That just means other characters are getting the screentime right now or it would be the Kristen Show.
So, Stacy had just finished filming and was on a break. Wondering what she was going to do now, she suddenly got a text message from Y&R head writer and executive producer Josh Griffith.
Haiduk said the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. In addition, the actress stated that she has been wanting to play Patty again. So, she was thrilled to get the chance and to be available on top of it.
Familiar Faces
When Stacy showed up on the Y&R set, she got to reunite with a few familiar faces from DOOL. As fans recall, Tamara Braun went from Ava Vitali to Sienna Bacall. Lucas Adams left as Tripp Johnson to take on the role of Noah Newman. There is also Billy Flynn, who plays Chad DiMera and Cane Ashby.
Stacy admits it was a little weird to see familiar faces on a different soap set! Especially since those were the first faces she saw when coming to work that day!
The Burning Question
As for if Haiduk is still on the Peacock soap, here is how she answered:
“They put my characters to rest sometimes, and I’m always sad because I love that show and my characters so much. When they did it in January,but when this came up, it couldn’t have been more perfect to just roll into another character that I love very much.”
The actress added, “I hope the fans will watch double duty of Y&R and Days. They can watch Kristen and Susan, then come on over and watch a little Patty.”
Expect to continue seeing Haiduk as Kristen and Susan in Salem until the end of 2026.
