Amy Duggar is sensing a pattern in the Duggar family, and it’s a troubling one. You know how Josh Duggar was arrested a few years back for possessing child pornography videos?
Well, at the time, it also came to light that he had molested four of his sisters and one family friend. This was, of course, all known by the family way back when and covered.
But sometimes, the things we want to hide and cover up have a way of turning around and demanding the spotlight. With Joseph Duggar’s arrest, one has to wonder how the God-fearing Duggars came to raise children who have a kink for pedophilic activities?
Amy Duggar King Blames Her Uncle Jim Bob and Aunt Michelle Duggar For “Allowing” and “Protecting” A Bad “Pattern”
On April 8, Amy Duggar took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the Duggars’ latest family crisis, which sees Joseph, 31, and his wife Kendra Duggar, 27, arrested and facing four counts of child abuse charges. The father-of-four was arrested in Arkansas on March 19 and extradited to Florida on March 31 before he was released on a $600,000 bail.
“When one family member goes to prison for crimes against children and then another brother goes to jail allegedly for crimes against children, that is not a coincidence,” Amy wrote.
She continued, “That’s not random, that’s not bad luck, that’s not anything like that. That’s called a pattern. And patterns don’t come from nowhere. Patterns come from what’s been protected, what’s been ignored, and what’s been allowed to continue. At some point, you have to stop asking yourself, ‘How did this happen again?’ and realize that there is an environment that let this happen in the first place.”
Josh, the eldest of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s 19 children, is currently serving a 151-month federal prison sentence after he was arrested in 2021 for receiving and possessing child pornography. He is expected to be released sometime in 2032.
The couple’s seventh child Joseph may be facing the same predicament if he is found guilty of his charges, which involve the molestation of a child less than 12 years old. Joseph and his siblings rose to fame on the TLC reality show ’19 Kids and Counting.’
