Days Of Our Lives spoilers reveal that viewers have been watching Suzanne bring Maggie Kiriakis to life since 1973. Maggie has not been seen a whole lot lately and fans wonder why.
Suzanne recently opened up to Digital Journey about what causes this large breaks for characters. Here is what Suzanne said about that and more.
Suzanne Rogers Talks Breaks
Suzanne admits that she used to be required to memorize many pages of scripts throughout the years.
However, currently Rogers says she doesn’t have many these days, perhaps 40 pages at the most. However, lately there have not even been that many. Suzanne explains what happens during this breaks.
Suzanne admits that it takes a while for new writers to come in and get to know the characters. It also matters what other characters that character is working with. “If you are not part of that storyline, then you don’t work as much,” Rogers explained. “You may work, but you may not have as much dialogue as you would if you had the main storyline.”
Suzanne Rogers Isn’t Working Much Currently
Suzanne admits that she is not working much currently. Maggie sometimes interacts with Sarah Horton (Lindsey Godfrey) and Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer), who are in a front burner storyline.
However, Maggie isn’t seen nearly as much as the two of them. Recently, Maggie was seen in a confrontation with Johnny Dimera (Carson Boatman) as well.
Maggie should be in a bigger storyline soon with the Titan loan payment coming up and Maggie’s home being at risk if it isn’t paid.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that Maggie will get to keep the mansion, but it would be a shame for her to have to move out of the Kiriakis mansion after all of these years.
Suzanne Rogers Has Been Ill
Suzanne has also been sick as well and with Days Of Our Lives taping schedule, Maggie may not been seen as often because of that. Days Of Our Lives types sometimes nine and ten months ahead if not more.
Suzanne was diagnosed with stage II colon cancer in July 2025. Rogers completed six weeks of radiation and chemotherapy shortly thereafter and is now in remission.
Suzanne spoke with PEOPLE at Peacock’s Day Of Days event on November 8, 2025 saying, “I’m feeling so much better. I mean, my summer was rough. I had cancer removed, radiation, that was tough.
But I didn’t lose my hair. I guess I got it early.” Suzanne proudly announced that she was in remission. However, this and the shows summer typing schedule could help explain some of Maggie’s current absences as well.
