Days Of Our Lives Spoilers reveal that two popular stars have been dropped to reoccurring status among several other changes going on at the Peacock soap.
Days fans are just learning about his drastic change as Sofia Mattsson, ex-Sasha Gilmore, General Hospital, has been cast in a yet unnamed role. Mattsson is set to appear in early 2027.
Two Popular Stars Dropped
In the meantime, according to Jason47, the Days of Our Lives closing credits this week reveal that a popular actor and actress are missing from the playing who are on contract. Currently, both of these actors are in the middle of a major storyline.
The actors missing are Galen Gering (Rafe Hernandez) and Elia Cantu (Jada Hunter), but who are now reoccurring instead of contract players.
Gering has been a huge part of the show since he joined in 2008 being involved with characters like Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney), Ava Vitali (ex-Tamara Braun), and Nicole Walker (ex-Arianne Zucker) as well as Jada, played by Cantu. Rafe has essentially come full circle coming to the show at an FBI agent protecting Sami and has evolved back to the FBI after his breakup with Jada.
Elia Cantu Joined DOOL In 2022
Cantu joined the cast in 2022 and quickly became involved with Eric Brady (ex-Greg Vaughan). Jada has been in a few romances since joining the show and even almost married Rafe.
However, thanks to EJ Dimera (Dan Feuerriegel), that didn’t work out like everyone had planned. Both Jada and Rafe ended up sleeping with other people and ending things.
This status change by no means reveals that the two actors are leaving the show any time soon. A lot of DOOL actors are on reoccurring status.
Fans might now see these characters as often as they are used to but they will still be around. These actors still have stories they are in the middle or and will surely be around to wrap them up.
A Lot Of Actors Are Reoccurring
It simply is not feasible for all of the soaps to keep all of the actors on contract status. Therefore, each of the five soaps have certain characters that are not seen as often who show up when and for as long as they are needed. Usually these actors are still quite active on the soap no matter what their contract status is.
Rafe and Jada remain very busy currently with everything going on with Stephanie Johnson’s (Abigail Klein) kidnapping and EJ Dimera (Dan Feuerriegel) involvement.
Jada certainly has her hands full with one cop down and one who has turned in his badge recently. It truly doesn’t seem that either actor will be going anywhere any time soon.
