The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) revealed the truth to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). Riza Thompson (Tina Casciani) was used to draw Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) to Las Vegas, Nevada, so Nick would follow.
So, Nick was duped into believing that he and Adam were in control of the situation. Of course, soap opera fans are savvy. So, they suspected Matt’s dark intentions from the beginning.
At this point in the storyline, Nick seems primed to be offered as the bait that lures Matt’s other enemies in. Sure enough, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will soon arrive in Sin City, with Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) and Matt’s estranged wife, Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun), likely to come as well.
Riza Thompson Also Provided With An Alias
To her credit, Riza is used to working with sketchy characters. She had Adam on her docket as a professional gambler for years under the assumed name Spider.
Fans saw that Riza is fond of Adam and planted a few kisses on him. So, that confirmed she wasn’t working with Matt and put her in the same unwanted category as Sienna.
Riza and Sienna were duped by Matt’s charms, or whatever his persona can be termed. Casciani’s character knew Matt by the alias Ronnie. She didn’t know that he was using her as a part of his plan to seek revenge against the Newman family.
Adam Newman Recognized The Crisis
Nick stopped Adam from meeting with Matt. There’s no telling how that would have played out because Howarth’s character knows who Adam is and would have had some form of confrontation with him or kidnapped him as he did Nick.
Morrow’s character sensed that something was off and stopped Adam from going to Riza’s suite, where her partner was supposed to meet with him. Of course, that switch had to be made to reignite the showdown between Nick and Matt, which is what this entire storyline was leading to.
It will be intriguing to see how far Riza will be willing or able to go to help Adam save his brother. Matt has nothing to lose and believes he’s in control, which implies great danger is ahead.
Newman Family Reinforcements Coming
So, it appears that Matt’s final stand won’t be had in Genoa City, Wisconsin. Rather, the Vegas setting is probably where he’s handled by the Newmans.
Sharon’s long history with Matt and Sienna’s more recent dealings establish them as strong and needed strategic sources. Chelsea will be there to help Adam, and Noah has payback motivation.
Howarth’s run, while seemingly short, has been terrific. Daytime fans cherish great actors working in compelling tales, and this one embraces both elements. A fitting climax and outcome should soon sing.
