The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Matt’s Sudden Transformation Shocks Genoa City – No One Is Prepared

The Young and The Restless: Matt Clark (Roger Howarth)

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) is an unrepentant villain. But the multiple blows to his head that his wife applied have transformed him into a character that would generally be sympathetic.

Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) recalled what happened in the Las Vegas desert after she had time to digest this mega plot shift. Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) prodding questions shook Sienna’s head, with the reflective details coming in the next Cottage sitting.

Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) didn’t want his newest love interest, meaning Matt’s estranged wife, to be pushed. But it’s good that Sharon did because the audience was dying for that information.

Sienna Bacall Didn’t Commit Murder

Might Sienna eventually get in trouble for creating Matt’s amnesia?

Well, that’s technically what happened, and there were no witnesses or known video recordings because they were alone with the tumbleweeds in that western setting.

Matt is the unwanted thorn that keeps piercing everyone’s side. While Sienna was traumatized, she was also relieved when thinking that Matt was no longer a threat on this earth.

However, as viewers quickly saw, Matt was alive and eating in a restaurant somewhere near where he was physically attacked. The fans also saw that Sienna’s actions were in desperation because he was trying to choke her out.

Sharon Newman And Nick Newman Aren’t Prepared

No one has ever seen any version of the Matt character as a poor soul. Vulnerability wasn’t on any script page that the actors who’ve played him through the years saw.

The Young and The Restless: Sharon Newman's (Sharon Case)

As has been cited before, Howarth is an immensely talented actor. His daytime chops were also well known before he joined the Y&R cast.

To see Howarth project a vulnerable Matt will be quite the epic treat, especially if it endures for a while and causes the Genoa City, Wisconsin-based characters to recognize and accept what’s happened to him. Sharon and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will be stunned at the start.

But they and the other connected characters are likely to connect Sienna’s description of the incident in the desert to Matt’s new demeanor.

Matt Clark’s Eventual Recovery Looms

Of course, soap opera fans see the endgame. Matt actually has amnesia, but that brain fog will eventually lift. Then what?

The horrid beauty of this storyline involves the power struggle between Matt and the widening circle he’s targeted. Advantage, Newmans and all their allies, when he arrives in GC looking for answers about himself.

Matt’s condition will obviously be seen as an attempted con, when it won’t be that. So, one direction that can be pursued is to have him recover but hide that reality from his renewed targets, which would establish another climax or possibly a final showdown.
