Enter Matt Clark (Roger Howarth), stage right in the rebuilt, replica Newman Ranch’s living room. He’s currently residing in Victor’s home gym, where that poor soul is slowly recovering his tortured memory.
Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) said that she feels sorry for him. If the woman who bought Matt’s alternative persona, Mitch Bacall, married him, and who he intended to kill on recent occasions, can reach that emotional apex, then so can every viewer who suspends disbelief.
Matt Clark Is Telling The Truth, For Now
Victor agreed to allow Matt to have a shower and eat some food. The hardcore criminal is in full repentant mode, wanting an opportunity to make amends to the Newman family.
Viewers, like Victor and the Newmans, believe Matt is telling the truth. But observers on the other side of the screen are also wondering how long it will be until he turns and hides that from his chosen overlord.
In the meantime, one of the more ingenious storylines is playing out in Genoa City, Wisconsin, where Matt (as initially played by Eddie Cibrian and later by Rick Hearst) once purposely targeted all things Newman during two terrorizing stints.
Victor Newman Wants To Punish His Enemies
Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) surprised the audience and the man who still loves her when she asked if he would run Chancellor for her. Cane was taken by surprise at that offer.
Victor won’t be pleased if Lily realizes that deal. But it won’t adjust his plans to test Matt’s sincerity, which he’s on board with.

Cane Ashby Is In Love And Not Ready For Battle
Cane didn’t prove to be a good corporate raider. In fact, he was terrible.
While his late father’s intentions were heartfelt, Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers) wasn’t the type of mentor Cane needed.
He bungled the grand meeting in the south of France, and three deaths resulted. Cane later suffered Arabesque’s decimation at Victor’s hands and saw Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) steal his artificial intelligence program from him and use it to seize Newman Enterprises.
Phyllis held up her end of the forced bargain with Victor, who offered her grace because she and Matt saved Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow). In full contrast, Cane is about to face his comeuppance, with Matt serving as Victor’s targeted puppet.
Flynn’s character is totally focused on reconciling with Lily, repairing his relationship with the twins, and isn’t thinking about Victor. That’s a naive mistake.
