Soap stars Darin Brooks and Kelly Kruger were heading to their 10th anniversary, before we learned that they’ve made the decision to jointly file for divorce.
Six months later, the couple has settled. They will be sharing joint legal custody of their daughters, Everleigh, 6, and Gemma, 3.
What Darin Brooks and Kelly Kruger Have Said About Their Divorce
Sometimes Soap stars find their happily ever after together, and sometimes they don’t. The couple separated on Dec. 31, 2025, per legal documents obtained by PEOPLE. In January, they jointly filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
In March, Brooks and Kruger shared that while they’re parting ways, they’ve agreed to put the children first in everything they do moving forward.
“We’re committed to co-parenting our two children and remaining friends,” they told TVInsider in a statement.
On March 2, they shared another joint statement on Instagram addressing the divorce. “This is obviously not fun news to share but we have shared so many wonderful years together, and we’re truly grateful for the support, love, and joy you all have shown us along the way.”
“While we’ve made the difficult decision to part ways as a couple, we remain deeply respectful of each other and united in our commitment to our beautiful family,” the statement continued. “Our focus is on raising our girls with love, laughter, and stability, and we look forward to this next chapter as friends and co-parents. Thank you for being such a meaningful part of our journey — your kindness and support means the world to us.”
On July 28, the day the marriage legally ended, Kruger shared a picture of herself floating in the pool, with a glass of champagne in her hand. She captioned the picture, “Lots to celebrate this week!!!”
What Darin Brooks and Kelly Kruger Have Said About Marriage
Brooks and Kruger may have had opposing views on marriage, but they fought tooth and nail to make it work. The stars met on the set of ‘Blue Mountain State’ in 2010.
In 2019, Kruger got real about her marriage in a chat with Soap Opera Digest, saying, “The first year of marriage is no joke. It really is the hardest…. I was always so anti-marriage for so long. And then I married him, and I was like, ‘Marriage is amazing.’ But it’s hard, it’s work.”
Brooks agreed with the sentiment, adding, “Yeah, you both have to work. It’s not like anybody has to work more than the other. Both people have to work.”
