Of course, Nick knew that she wanted information about Matt Clark. That may be true. It is true.
But there’s something very telling in Phyllis’s eyes. There’s a shine there, something that truly feels for Nick and probably even felt, dare I say, a little guilty.
Old Feelings Have A Way Of Resurfacing
There has always been something between Nick and Phyllis. And knowing that Nick has been struggling and could have died probably has Phyllis in a weird place.
A man she loves, the father of her child, is fighting the toughest battle of his life. Nearly watched a woman overdose in front of him and has been doing everything he can to get better.
All Phyllis is probably feeling right now is the fright of nearly losing Nick.
While Nick shut her down because he knew she was there for information about Clark, it doesn’t mean he hates her.
Nick has a lot to deal with right now, and there’s still a love for her as well.
He just didn’t know it in that moment. But there’s something there. We may not explore it right now, but they have a way of coming back together.
Eyes don’t lie. And Phyllis’s eyes gave her away immediately. There was pain and sadness in them.
A touch of guilt. She knows she loves Nick and wants him to succeed and probably felt bad about asking him for the information. There is no doubt though, there are still embers glowing in this relationship.
