Dogs arrived, and who doesn’t love a farm dog named Pip? When Barley rested, along came Pip, an elderly black-and-white collie, and Moss, a scruffy little pooch.
The enchanting story showed that Moss ended up curled up in the warm hollow Barley had made in the grass, while Pip settled near his nose. And there was that wonderfully irrelevant bee, which remained determinedly independent of the entire plot.
One sentence said, “The willow branches moved gently overhead… Water moved over the stones in the stream… So Barley closed his eyes. And this time, he stayed exactly where he was.” If that doesn’t help the kids to sleep, then chalk it up as a rarity.
Homework & Flashcards
Apart from storytelling, ChatGPT is good at helping with homework. Input the right prompts, and CafeMom noted that the app generates very useful ones that can “also be engaging and interactive.”
These days, OpenAI even has a voice that can answer back. Obviously, if younger kids use ChatGPT on your phone, it should be with an adult supervising, but you could get them to play ‘Knock-Knock Who’s There’ games with it.
