However, are they targeting the right suspect at DiMera Enterprises; Gabi is now convinced that the real culprit is not at Titan but rather at DiMera, specifically EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel).
Is The Suspicion Justified?
But is her suspicion justified, or is she jumping to conclusions without evidence? Earlier this summer, Gabi encountered Gwen in Horton Town Square and noticed that Gwen was sporting a new Gabi Chic bag, which thrilled her.
However, it quickly dawned on Gabi that Gwen was actually carrying a counterfeit bag, not an authentic designer piece.
Shortly after, Leo joined them, eager to get involved. Currently, both he and Gwen are keen to assist Gabi, who is determined to uncover the truth behind the design theft.
Rafe Talked With Gabi From A Law Enforcement Standpoint
Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) discussed the situation with Gabi from a law enforcement angle, but it seems the FBI is somewhat limited in their ability to act at this moment.
Much of the activity is taking place overseas, and counterfeit designer handbags aren’t exactly at the top of the crime-fighting agenda.
Nevertheless, Rafe assured Gabi that he would do his best, yet no progress has been made.
This leaves us all questioning whether Gabi, Gwen, and Leo will revisit this case following the kidnapping incident. Remember, Gabi was shocked to discover that replicas of her designs were being sold globally on numerous fraudulent websites operated by counterfeiters.
At First, Xander And Philip Were Blamed
Initially, she accused Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) and Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) of stealing her designs, believing Titan did so out of financial need and as revenge for her spying. However, both Xander and Philip highlighted the lack of evidence for her accusations.
It also seemed unreasonable for them to target Gabi, especially since she had promised them a large part of her inheritance from Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash).
In fact, she intended to help bail out Titan, making it illogical for them to steal from her.
Later, Arianna Horton (Vico Escorcia) revealed that someone had taken the prototype bag she brought to her internship at DiMera.
Gabi Was First Told The Purse Was Missing, But Ari Later Found It
Gabi was informed that her purse was missing, but Ari later found it in the employee break room, albeit moved.
Everything inside was untouched, so she didn’t think much of it until Ari revealed Gabi’s involvement with counterfeits. Now, evidence points to a potential offender at DiMera-it wouldn’t take much for someone to grab the bag, photograph it from all angles, and replicate the design.
As a result, Gabi was advised to send cease and desist letters to the counterfeiters. She did, but it was ineffective; criminals aren’t deterred by letters; now, Gabi is investigating with Leo’s help, and Gwen is heavily involved.
Who’s Counterfeiting The Gabi Chic Bags?
Leo is preparing to expose the harsh truth about counterfeit designer goods and accessories, with Chad DiMera (Connor Floyd) giving him the green light.
Leo has set up a meeting, demanding solid proof rather than just assumptions; he’s seeking evidence, and Gwen has teamed up with her friend Gabi.
They are working together because Gwen is outraged after spending a lot on what turned out to be a fake Gabi Chic item.
The pressing question is, who is producing these counterfeit bags; it could be Rita Lesley, EJ’s longtime associate (Maggie Carney). With direct access to the company office, she has been involved with the DiMeras since Stefano DiMera’s era (Joe Mascolo).

Rita’s loyalty to EJ and the DiMera family is unwavering; if Kate Brady (Lauren Koslow) is revealed as the design thief manipulating Ari, it would be a major setback for her.
However, Kate often rationalizes her dubious actions on Days of our Lives, typically under the guise of protecting her children. This scenario might stem from a desire for revenge against Gabi.
Kate May Have Retaliated For Gabi Breaking Philip’s Heart
Kate may have aimed to retaliate for Gabi breaking Philip’s heart, as he was heartbroken to learn Gabi was spying on Titan.
The company is now facing challenges due to the fallout from the forged letter, Gabi’s espionage, and the failed merger. Furthermore, Kate’s extensive knowledge of the fashion industry suggests she could have set up a counterfeiting scheme.
She might be using Titan Associates instead of Titan itself to create and distribute counterfeit goods, all while keeping Gabi unaware. It’s likely that Kate has executed this plan without leaving any evidence behind.
Gwen And Leo Might Investigate Kate’s Recent Connections, And Also Javi’s Ex, Gus
Gwen and Leo might look into Kate’s recent connections, her financial situation, and any newfound fascination with international fashion.
Gabi is set to leave for Monte Carlo soon with Philip, making it an opportune moment for Gwen and Leo to investigate Kate and others while Gabi is away.
They could take advantage of Kate’s distraction as she settles back into the pub and navigates the Titan and Kiriakis family drama. Another potential suspect is Javi Hernandez’s (Jacob Martinez) ex-boyfriend, Gus (Michael Ocampo).
It’s uncertain if we’ve seen the last of him, as Gus lived with Gabi through Javi, where she stored work materials-this means Gus could have accessed either Javi’s or Gabi’s computers.
Gus Could Have Stolen The Designs
He may have outright stolen the designs, including the blueprints for the bags; Javi had access to Gabi Chic’s servers while working as her assistant.
Since Gus lived with Gabi, he could have seen the prototype bag Ari was carrying, along with others nearby. Just because someone disappeared from the DiMera offices doesn’t mean the design was stolen from there; it’s possible it was simply picked up and moved.
However, if Leo finds a link to Gus, it could create problems, as Javi might view it as a jealous, unfounded accusation. Gabi, Gwen, and Leo have a tough road ahead, but they will be shocked when they find out who really stole the Gabi Chic Designs.
