The Young and the Restless spoilers show that there are some big things happening behind-the-scenes. New co-head writers Jamey Giddens and Dan O’Connor have officially taken the role over from longtime head writer Josh Griffith.
It will be interesting to see what direction they take it, and whether or not fans are going to like the new direction.
With the show taping 4-6 weeks in advance, we can expect to start seeing the new feel for the show this month.
The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Has Griffith Been On The Right Track?
With Griffith leaving the role, it leaves behind some storylines that we’re interested to see how they finish.
From the Chancellor takeover war and Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) addiction storyline to Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) love affair with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), how will each of these pay off now? Are they at the behest of the new writers, or has Griffith written far enough along that we won’t see any of the new things for a few months?
Y&R Spoilers: What Fans Should Actually Expect
This transition should be happening soon, right? While the current storylines aren’t going to be abandoned in the middle of their stories, we expect everything to play out first before we see something new.
What we hope to see is that, with all the characters the new writers have access to, perhaps they have some fresh ideas, and there are two of them. So, more room to bounce ideas back and forth rather than just one.
For the fans, this is pretty exciting. We could see a completely different view of Genoa City. Our favorite characters interacting in new ways with new people, and hopefully, get some different storylines instead of the same ones recycled over and over.
Of course, this will probably mean change, which could also be scary. For many, soaps like Y&R are safe getaways.
You know what’s going to happen, you know how the characters will react, you don’t have to worry. With something new, it could completely flip your viewing experience on its head!
Either way, we’re excited to see what the change brings, and hopefully, new and exciting stories.
