Apparently, Nick believes that the only way to keep his family safe, which includes his ex, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), is if he takes control of the situation with Matt Clark (Roger Howarth).
Nick is very much aware of how dangerous and unstable Matt is and hasn’t been able to trust him ever since the incident in Las Vegas.

I can understand why Nick doesn’t trust Matt, but taking him hostage again would be a huge mistake. Nick has already been through enough because of this man. The last thing he needs is to end up behind bars while Matt gets to play the victim. I think Nick needs to be very careful because this could backfire on him in a big way!
