The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) was watching Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) video conference call.
He was suspicious because she never forgets a meeting, but this time, she did.
Viewers knew that Victoria was in the hideaway condominium that her newest love interest, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), recently obtained.
She forgot about the digital call and had her head in the Midwestern clouds once again.
Victoria didn’t know that her father was watching the meeting. He called her immediately after she wrapped up her electronic conversation.
She hadn’t seen her father’s name on the list of attendees because he was in incognito mode.
Key Takeaways
- Victor notices Victoria’s unusual behavior.
- Victoria nearly misses an important business meeting.
- Kyle and Victoria continue hiding their romance.
- Their secret code names protect their affair.
- Jack and Diane may soon discover the truth.
Victor Newman Lives An Incognito Life
Just-in-time delivery was a business innovation decades ago when corporations decided it was more efficient, meaning cheaper, not to stock inventory.
Victoria modernized that practice and arrived at the meeting on the dot, plus a few minutes.
She explained herself and then proceeded to talk about Newman Enterprises’ business.
Everything seemed to go well, though she didn’t know Victor was observing until he revealed that incognito mode is a privilege of his position.
Of course, someone who builds a business and remains its head has created the experience that allows that type of special situation.
Victor also has vast knowledge of sneaking around with women, sometimes while he was married, which allows him to sense hanky-panky scenarios.
And with Victor already facing the possibility of Kyle and Victoria’s forbidden romance, his suspicions could quickly become a problem for the secret couple.
Victoria Newman Wants More Than Work
Living for one’s job is not healthy. So, it’s reasonable for Victoria to want more than her career.
She hasn’t been married to anyone since her ex-husband, Ashland Locke (Robert Newman), went berserk, tried to kill her, and was accidentally killed by Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).
That intense storyline ended four years ago in real time.
One of the great loves of her life, Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck), died unexpectedly last year.
That loss stung and left a void in Victoria’s heart, which Kyle has begun to fill.
As Victoria and Kyle’s secret affair has continued heating up, their connection has clearly become about more than an occasional romantic encounter.
Kyle Abbott Creates Cover Personas
Kyle’s feelings for Victoria are real.
They are also in the high-schooler stage of their relationship, as their alternate personas confirm.
Boris and Natasha are the cover names Kyle and Victoria created for each other.
They use them when texting as a precaution.
Their goal is to keep this connection secret from their families and friends.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) have been focused on Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and his now-wife, Sally Spectra Abbott (Courtney Hope), in the weeks leading up to their wedding.
They’re also still leery of Patty Williams’ (Stacy Haiduk) return.
But now that the wedding is over and Billy and Sally’s child is born, Jack and Diane can turn their focus back to Kyle.
So, like Victoria, he won’t be able to escape suspicion or discovery of their connection for long.
Of course, Victor’s ongoing war with the Abbotts could make Kyle and Victoria’s relationship even more dangerous.
Annemarie’s Take
I think Kyle and Victoria are fooling themselves if they believe they can keep this affair hidden much longer.
Victor is already suspicious, and once Jack and Diane start paying attention to Kyle again, things could get messy very quickly.
And those Boris and Natasha code names? They’re entertaining, but I doubt they’ll save this couple when their families start putting the pieces together!
Do you think Victor will discover Kyle and Victoria’s secret before Jack and Diane do?
