A Vancouver-based model has finally revealed the truth behind the headlines that he was deported from Saudi Arabia.
Borkan Al Gala was reportedly among three men from the UAE.
Who was kicked out from a festival in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh because they apparently were labeled “too handsome.”
Officials at a cultural festival “feared female visitors could fall for them,” a local newspaper reported. So he was deported to Abu Dhabi.
The men were arrested by police officers from the country’s religious police force, the Mutaween.
Saudi Arabia is an ultra-conservative Islamic nation that imposes numerous rules on women such as that they must stay covered up at all times and are not allowed to speak or interact with men who are not their relatives.
Borkan Al Gala addressed the report on his Facebook page. On April 21 he posted: “This is what written in newspapers in over the world 
UAE men ordered to leave Saudi Arabia for being ‘too handsome’,” and added a link to the Stream lux site.
They had supposedly upset some young girls, he explained.
The Saudi Arabian authorities also released their side of the story. They said they never asked Omar and his friends to leave the country, only the festival.
Borkan Al Gala’s Facebook page has nearly 100,000 likes. He describes himself as a Fashion photographer, actor, and poet from Dubai.
Some years ago, he has declared the most handsome man in the world.
Omar was born in Baghdad, Iraq, in September 1989. He grew up in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. And then he lived for some time in Vancouver, Canada.
He studied photography and has a degree in hotel management. He’s not famous because of his hotel management skills, though.
