Tessa Thompson walks the red carpet in a chic slip dress for the premiere of her new movie, Passing, during the 2021 New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on Sunday (October 3) in New York City.
The 38-year-old actress joined her co-stars Ruth Negga, Forest Whitaker and Rebecca Hall, who also wrote and directed the movie, at the event.
Amber Pickens, Ashley Ware Jenkins, and Andre Holland were also seen on the red carpet.
Adapted from the celebrated 1929 novel of the same name by Nella Larsen, Passing tells the story of two Black women, Irene Redfield (Thompson) and Clare Kendry (Negga), who can “pass” as white but choose to live on opposite sides of the color line during the height of the Harlem Renaissance in late 1920s New York.
FYI: Tessa wore a Rodarte dress, with Mindi Mond New York and Ananya jewelry. Ruth wore an Alexander McQueen look.
