The Romanian singer-songwriter has a very interesting past already: from appearing as an X Factor Romania star, to performing in the group Lala Band, to acting in the soap opera O nouă viață (A New Life).
Following her departure from her native country to Los Angeles, she kicked off her career stateside with a series of smash hit songwriting contributions, including “OMG What’s Happening” for Ava Max and “Heartbreak Anthem” for Galantis and Little Mix. She also made her Atlantic Records debut with David Guetta on “Redrum.”
And now, she’s making her solo debut!

Her new single “Karaoke” was produced by Ali Payami.
“The story of my song ‘Karaoke’ starts with ‘He broke my heart,’ but instead of confronting him about why he cheated, I decided to go to a karaoke bar with my girlfriends on that Friday night, pick the most heartbreaking songs I could find in the playlist and sing my heart out pretending he was there to listen,” she explains.
“Going to karaoke became a regular thing for me and as I used music for healing, I also found my courage as a performer, becoming the star of that karaoke bar. Those nights made me dream and inspired me to express my most vulnerable feelings through music.”
With such an impressive resume already, we’re so excited to see where Sorana goes next!

1. My hair lights up – like for real ! I built a wig out of optic fiber.
2. I used to go to Karaoke every Friday night for a few years and that’s how I got over my fear of singing in front of people.
3. I’m oddly good at makeup & hair without ever having had to practice it.
4. When I was 12 years old I made my first wig. I asked my mom to buy me this bright orange yarn and I braided two super long braids and tied them around my head with a string.
5. I knew I was going to be a singer since I was 3 years old.
6. I’m obsessed with Sailor Moon. It’s all about girls with superpowers & I’m here for that.
7. If I could have a superpower it would be being able to control the future.
8. I drink two venti Starbucks coffees every day.
9. I love to buy high platform shoes that I never wear cuz I don’t want to get them dirty.
10. I never imagined I’d become a songwriter & I was kinda scared of words growing up but as life pushed me in that direction, writing songs became my therapy.
