Today show host Hoda Kotb shared a brief update on her co-host and friend Al Roker.
The 68-year-old NBC anchor has been re-hospitalized with blood clot complications, Hoda confirmed on air.
If you didn’t know, Al was released last week after suffering from blood clots. He missed hosting the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for the first time in 27 years due to his condition. Unfortunately, it looks like he’s suffering new complications and is back under care.

Al had to be rushed back to the hospital just one day after he was discharged.
“It was wonderful hosting the celebration, but, of course, we all wished that Al could’ve been with us,” Hoda said on Today. “But, due to some complications, he is back in the hospital and he is in very good care. He’s resting and his doctors are keeping a close eye on him. Al and his family want everyone to know how grateful they are for all the love, the support and the well wishes.”
“We will see you back here soon, my friend,” co-host Craig Melvin said.
At the Thanksgiving Parade, Hoda said, “For the past 27 parades, at this moment, we would turn to Al Roker, who’s our Today show colleague and our best pal, but as a lot of you have heard, Al’s recovering and he’s recovering very well from a recent medical issue.”
We wish Al a complete and full recovery!
