Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers suggest that there’s a new face running around in Salem, who’s very excited to be in the little town!
Rachel Boyd debuted as the Sophia Choi recast during the Wednesday, February 12 episode and the actress recently explained how she landed the role.
Boyd Talks Snagging Sophia Recast on Instagram
Boyd took center stage in a video uploaded to the soap’s Instagram page. The post’s caption read, “Help us welcome Rachel Boyd to #Days as she takes on the role of Sophia Choi. Don’t miss her debut tomorrow, stream on #Peacock! #DOOL #daysofourlives #days #RachelBoyd”
Of course, Boyd took the time to comment on the video with, “Hii everyone!! I’m so excited to be here ⏳ from Toronto > Salem”. Eric Martsolf (Brady Black) was quick to hit the comments section, stating, “Welcome to the fam, Rach”
A Soapy ‘Happily Ever After’
The actress starts in the IG video, introducing herself and letting everyone know that she’s the new Sophia on Days. She also shared a funny story about how she landed the role, noting that she was working as a server in a Toronto steakhouse when she got the call from her manager.
Boyd goes on to say she bent under the table in a ‘POS stand’ and took the call. Her manager reminded her of the audition she did for Days about 9 months ago and then told her she got the Sophia part and was moving to Los Angeles!
The actress went on in the IG video stating she got flustered for the rest of her shift, missing customer’s drinks, etc.; however, despite the complaints, she was ecstatic.
After all, she knew she would be quitting the job soon. Boyd also told DOOL fans in the video that the Bistro uniform Sophia wears on the soap looks a lot like the one she used to wear at the Toronto steakhouse!
The video ended with Boyd noting that she’s having fun and that she feels like Cinderella! Here’s to Boyd and Sophia’s ‘happily ever after’ in Salem!
