The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) wants to protect her family. However, asking Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to have his people conduct a background check on Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers) is also a family matter.
Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) has had a hard time of it lately, learning that his father had another son. The late Nathan Hastings (Adam Lazzare-White) was unaware that Amy Lewis (Valarie Pettiford) was pregnant with his child in the 1980s.
Damian’s soapy bump into Lily was the first form of literal contact she had with Nate’s paternal brother. Depending upon what Victor’s minions find, she might gain information that could shape Nate’s short-term relationship with his newfound family member.
Amy Lewis Doesn’t Have Much Time Left
Nate can’t believe that Damian has been so dismissive of his mother. Amy is a good soul who wants to make amends and ensure her son isn’t alone.
Damian extended minimal verbal support to his mother but didn’t go beyond a few words. He’s decided to run away from his obligation and hide in Los Angeles, California, where he supposedly is living a good life.
The definition of good is highly subjective in this instance, as the audience watched Damian say he had only ever had one friend. Now, he’s intending to shun his dying mother and not pursue a relationship with his only known sibling.
Damian Kane Likes Lily Winters
Lily is easy to like. Most importantly, she’s good to her family, especially her children. As Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) continues to insist, Lily has a good business head on her shoulders and is clearly beautiful.
Damian was told to watch where he was walking after he made slight contact with Lily at Society’s bar. His blocked exit allowed him to be introduced to his brother’s cousin, though Rivers’ character had no idea who Lily was. But he was taken with her.
Soap fans know that type of introduction telegraphs into a potential connection. Whether it will lead to a love match is hard to tell. However, Lily is single, and Damian appears to have no one he loves other than himself.
This is an appealing setup from the audience’s perspective. Nate is wary of Damian, and his brother feels the same about him. Drop Lily into the equation, potentially providing Nate with juicy intel about Damian, and a reveal followed by a redemption storyline could play out.
Nate Hastings Personal Life Goes Beyond Family
Nate’s restored trust allowed him to reoccupy a place he’d always held in his family. Lily and Devon Winters (Bryton James) are over Nate’s business betrayal and value him as they always have. Their protective feelings include an ongoing leeriness of Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver).
Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) knows Audra. Earlier dialogue between these characters indicates that they were romantically connected briefly.
Audra’s withholding of that connection to the man who impersonated Damian at Damian’s request won’t go over well with Nate. It will at least cause a rift between Nate and Audra while he’s negotiating whatever happens with his brother.
