Days of Our Lives spoilers and rumors tease that somehow, the Phoenix has risen again, and Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) in some form is alive, per the most recent season preview.
Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and recently reactivated ISA analyst Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) discussed the Phoenix, as Anna DiMera (Leann Hunley) sarcastically told Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) – she thought!
Tony Had An Andre DiMera Vibe When Anna Told Him “She” Thinks Stefano’s Alive
Tony had an Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) vibe when Anna sarcastically told him “she”-meaning Cat-thinks Stefano’s alive.
That’s not so surprising, considering the last time the Phoenix “rose” in someone else’s body she took out “Steveano” Johnson’s (Stephen Nichols) robotic eye with her heel! Plus, after Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) removed the brain chip that made Steve into “Steveano”, Tony and Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) destroyed it, burning it in an ashtray.
Yet, at the end of the newest season promo, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) has nightmares of being Stefano’s “Queen of The Night” and at the end of the promo, it seems Andre appears. He’s in a white lab coat and talks down to someone on what may be a stasis tube like Megan Hathaway DiMera (Miranda C. Wilson) had Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) in.
It’s Almost Time, Father..
The person who appears to be Andre, obviously also resurrected, tells the figure below “It’s almost time, Father”…but at the same time, Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) has been mysteriously missing.
Tony and Anna told EJ DiMera (Dan Feurreriegel) they had looked for Stefan and asked after him-but Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel) shipped him off somewhere.
She didn’t want Stefan and Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) to reunite-and EJ’s aware of what happened. Stefan was raised one time already as Stefan, after Jake DiMera’s (Brandon Barash) heart came available-could a decision have been made for his father to live on in him?

No one would put it past Vivian to facilitate her only living son to host his father’s “essence” as Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) had called it.
It doesn’t mean that Stefan’s brain has died, and it’s been replaced with a duplicate Stefano brain chip like the one that was in Steve’s brain. It just means that he’s being controlled by the chip and the artificial intelligence masquerading as Stefano DiMera.
Of course, considering Megan dug up Bo’s body and brought him back to life after he’d been actually dead, something similar could be happening with Stefano-as a recast.
But it would be so much more appropriate to have Stefano’s only son who was named after him, or a form of his name, to live on as the Phoenix.
