General Hospital spoilers indicate that Kirsten Storms is returning to the land of Port Charles very soon. In fact, the ABC soap recently announced Maxie Jones’ first airdate. Learn more about this exciting news, down below.
Wakey, Wakey, Maxie Jones!
Storms hopped on Instagram this past Wednesday, January 21, alerting fans that she was “back at work”. Unfortunately, Maxie has been in a coma since August 2025 due to a tainted Deception cream she applied during an episode of Home and Heart; something Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) was behind.
The woman collapsed instantly, on air, and Maxie was placed in a Boston care facility after it was assessed that GH couldn’t sufficiently care for Maxie and her condition.
This was a scripted storyline to accommodate the actress’s move from California to Tennessee. One reason for this was an aneurysm on the right side of Storms’ brain, and a coiling procedure she was going to undergo.
With that said, just before Christmas hit, the actress did offer an update, hinting she might be returning to the soap sooner rather than later. Storms noted that her aneurysm was in the ‘gray area’, meaning it was not a mandatory procedure, and the doctors were going to keep monitoring it.
With that said, a General Hospital rep has confirmed that Maxie’s first appearance back will take place on Thursday, February 12 – just in time for sweeps!

Storms uploaded a photo of herself in front of a mirror on IG with the caption, “Boom. 2026 already…that was fast. Back at work!”
She added, “Seriously missing my BugBug though. California doesn’t feel right without her here.” ‘BugBug’ is clearly a reference to Harper Rose Barash, 12, the daughter Storms shares with ex-husband, Brandon Barash (GH’s ex-Johnny Zacchara and Days of Our Lives ex-Stefan/Jake DiMera).
Storms has been playing Maxie since 2005, and many fans are eager to see her reaction when she realizes that her thought-to-be-dead husband, Nathan West (Ryan Paevey), is very much alive.
