General Hospital Spoilers tell Willow Tait Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) has revealed quite a lot to the viewers in the last week. She did shoot Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), and she doesn’t seem to feel the least bit bad about it.

After everything he did to upend her life — certainly, with her help — he let her walk to the altar on their wedding day with every intent of marrying her despite having had an affair with her mother, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).

That moment broke Willow. Learning what he did and how little he cared to tell her the truth changed the course she was on for the rest of her life. She snapped, shot him, and has been working to not take the fall for it ever since.

This makes that scene at the Metro Court patio with Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) so much more interesting, since Willow was convinced that Michael was guilty of shooting Drew and trying to frame her.

Why would a guilty woman imply such? How was Michael so convinced that she was lying? How was he so certain when speaking with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) that the police were going to find the murder weapon in Willow’s possession, and why was he at Elizabeth Balwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) place that day?

Like Minds Dovetail

Both Michael and Willow were at Drew’s on the night of the shooting around the same time. Michael was there long enough for Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) to spot him, but not to spot Willow apparently.

Michael didn’t see Tracy, which makes me think Tracy saw him on his way out as he followed Willow, who fled moments earlier. But where did Willow go? She likely did what anyone would do in that moment and proceeded with whatever plan she had in mind to dispose of the gun. Let’s talk about that gun.

This Was Bigger Than Drew

The moment that Drew’s affair with Nina came to light, Willow shifted the way she was going to play the hand she was dealt. She didn’t just want revenge on Drew.

She also wanted revenge on Michael for taking her children away from her, and she sought to use both of them against each other to take them down. Perhaps it was always Willow’s plan to frame Michael for shooting Drew, and that’s why she intentionally chose Edward Quartermaine’s (John Ingle) gun as the weapon.

Michael Stayed One Step Ahead

What Willow could not have accounted for was that Michael would actually go to Drew’s house that night the same time that she did.

Still, she might have made careful steps to ensure she went through with this crime when she expected he wouldn’t have an easy alibi — like being tied up in meetings at work with others to corroborate his presence. But she couldn’t have known Michael would be there, and if he saw Willow shoot Drew, then his natural inclination would have been to follow her.

Maybe he followed her straight back to his door, and watched her plant that gun back on the Quartermaine estate.

That move would give him ample opportunity to keep the gun in his possession until just the right time to plant it back on her — right before the police were ready with a search warrant looking for it.

This would explain how he was so confident she was lying the entire time and never worried he would go down for this crime. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see how this plays out.
