The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) is destroying Newman Enterprises using the artificial intelligence tool that the collapsed Arabesque created.
Apparently, this weapon has allowed Cane to take control of a specific division Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) owned and had his beloved wife head.
Chancellor was a gift Victor offered to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) when he wanted her to leave Newman Media. She was initially outraged that he forced her out of that position but soon understood that sitting in what was once her mentor’s fabled company was infinitely better.
Cane is attempting to right a wrong that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) believed his mother, Jill Abbott (Jess Walton), caused. The offer to have Chancellor free and clear is stunning and one that also has a time limit.
Newman Enterprises Is Being Dismantled
Victor finds himself in a most unusual position. While Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) has modestly bested him in a handful of past instances and other foes have challenged Victor’s power, no one has so quickly leveled the Moustache’s legacy conglomerate.
The writing staff’s use of a current topic is intended to prey upon the audience’s fear of the unknown. AI is the newest cause celeb for those who embody endless doomsday scenarios.
Viewers recall so many supposed end-of-the-world moments that never produced claimed finality for Genoa City, Wisconsin’s residents. The angle in this storyline is Victor’s peril, rather than GC society at large.
Billy Abbott Wanted To Take Down The Great Man
Cane shares Billy’s feelings, along with many others, that Victor deserves his comeuppance. He’s just started to get it.
The offer to Billy came from nowhere, while Thompson’s character was beginning to wallow. Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) was troubled by what she was seeing and called him on it.
This one moment could be all that it takes for Billy to reclaim his mojo. Cane knows that and is in a position to facilitate it.
But a bigger question is also emerging. Is Cane assuming a Robin Hood persona, who wants to steal from Victor and give to those whom he’s made poorer across all these years on YR?
Cane Ashby Wants To Fulfill Colin Atkinson’s Goal
Cane says that he’s given up on Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). He’s told Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) that his kids have cut him off, and there’s no other choice but to become a version of Aristotle Dumas again. Doing so would allow him to revert to fulfilling his father’s hopes.
But the audience anticipates Khalil eventually returning to the cast following her maternity leave. Hopefully, the twins follow her to GC.
Currently, Cane is filling the Lily gap with Phyllis. But eventually, Victor will respond. He might not get all of what Newman Enterprises had back, but he’ll probably emerge somewhat victorious.
Another good question involves how much Cane will be able to accomplish by that time in the plot and if he can meet the goals Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers) wanted him to accomplish.
