The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) believes his nemesis has been vanquished. He’s okay with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) stealing Newman Enterprises. But Jack’s loving wife, who is also Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) ex-wife, isn’t as happy.
Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) knows Victor’s moods and can read his facial expressions as well as anyone except Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). Diane noticed Victor’s ease while he was dining with his current wife at the Genoa City Athletic Club and didn’t like it.
Jack is wrong to believe that Victor’s days of creating misery through his exploitation of power are over. Diane is right in recognizing that the Moustache is eerily calm.
The Lily Winters’ Gambit Should Work
Victor crafted a scheme after dealing with Matt Clark (Roger Howarth). He borrowed from that villain’s playbook and the recent torture of the Newman family.
Newman Enterprises’ deposed leader also appears to be mimicking efforts that past enemies, including Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) and Ian Ward (Ray Wise), employed.
Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) believes what Victor told him. He thinks that the head of the Newman family is behaving like a crime boss and kidnapped Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and their children.
If all goes as planned, Cane will find a way to take Newman Enterprises back from Phyllis and return it to Victor in exchange for the presumed safe return of Lily and the twins.
Jack Abbott’s Jabot Plan Is Working
Victor was certain that Jack’s plan to take Jabot dark was going to cost him Jabot. It looked that way early in the storyline, but then everything turned dramatically against Newman Enterprises.
Jack believed that building Jabot’s firewall would stop Victor from using the artificial intelligence program. That attack never came, but might have if circumstances, meaning Cane and Phyllis’ maneuvers and battles against each other.
Now, months later, Jabot is alive, and Newman Enterprises is incredibly headed by Phyllis. She just gave Abbott Communications to Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), who handed it off, along with Newman Media, to Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).
Yet, Jack’s glee is shortsighted. He wants to believe Victor is done, but Diane has a clearer vision.
Diane Jenkins Abbott Senses A Comeback
Jack should know that Victor won’t rest until he gets as much of Newman Enterprises back as possible and punishes everyone who caused him to lose control of it. Diane is keeping that seeming inevitability in mind.
The Abbotts don’t know about Victor’s secret plan with Lily. There would be no gloating about the end of the Moustache era.
Diane’s instincts were built through the hard times she faced with Victor. Devoted fans know that she behaved badly, at times, but bore the brunt of his wrath.
That experience will continue to be mined, and if her current husband is smart, he’ll listen to her rather than assume Victor’s business demise is permanent. Jack should also prepare to be back on Victor’s hit list.
